New routes for 2024 tour
Hi All. I have started he ball rolling by posting already my ideas for a 9 day trip around northern France for 2024. I have put the links to the MRA files - this is the only way I can get the files onto the forum, and also the hotels by way of a link. Have a look and tell me what you think. Plan is for begin September 2024 for this one
Day 1 = Rotterdam to Vienne le Chateau (386km) to a hotel I have tried before - Le Tulipier. Great food, small indoor pool and rooms are fine. Good launch point for the tour into France. For me the first leg is all motorway from The Hague via Rotterdam, Brussels and south into France. Travelling from the UK its either via ferry to join the route in the Hague with me or the ferry or tunnel to Calais
Le Tulipier, Hôtel & Restaurant at Vienne le Château (Marne)
Day 2 = Vienne le Chateau to Maison (302km). Driving thruogh Champangne country and the overnight stay is in a very chique restaurant / hotel right in the har of Champagne Region of France. Close to noe of my favourite ''Domaines'' Laurenti in Les Ricey.
Day 3 = Maison to Blere. (292km). Route heads west towards the Loire Valley area. Hotel overnight is in the small town of Blere.
Day 4 = Blere to Muzillac (342km). Quite a long ride westwards again along the Loire Valley and heading towards the Bittany Coast. Overnight stay again in small Logis hotel with Bluw\e coding for restuarant.
Day 5 = Muzillac to Lilla. (335km). Heading Westwards to the coast and up the Brittany Coast as far as Lillac. Small seaside town with hotel located in the bay.
Day 6 = Lilla to Avranches. (328km). Heading due east along the Brittancy coast past Mt St Michel and ending in the historic town of Avranches.
Day 7 = Avranches to Neufchatel. ( 320km) Still heading North East across the Seine at Le Havre over the Pont de Normandie and then on to Neufchatel
Day 8 = Neufchatel to Bollezeele (300km) Heading northwards towards Belgium to the last overnight stay close to the border.
Day 9 = Bollezeele to Rotterdam. (286km). Final leg through West Belgium, past Brugge and via the ''dijs'' back to Rotterdam and The Hague.
